The Casablanca Orchestra delivers a high energy performance with their international cast of artists as they perform swing, Latin and jazz favourites from the ’30s to ’90s. Over the last 12 years, this high-calibre team of musicians blends jazz, Latin, swing, R&B, funk, blues, pop, rock and show tunes. The Uptown Swing Band is a 10-piece dance band whose repertoire celebrates the best swing music from the ’30s, ’40s and ’50s.Įstablished in 2008, the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band is a dynamic ensemble featuring middle and secondary school students performing classic and contemporary jazz at venues throughout Ontario. The music of the Ragweed Jazz Band is for listening, dancing, tapping toes and remembering the golden years of jazz. Performing since 2000, this nine-piece jazz band is comprised of trumpet, trombone, baritone, tenor and alto saxophones, piano, bass, guitar and drums. Hosted by musical director Scott White, this free concert series features some of Ontario’s best live jazz, big band and swing acts from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday Serenades returns to Toronto’s Mel Lastman Square on Sunday evenings from July 5 to August 16.
